Sharon Lea Taylor Snyder is the eldest child of Malvern Taylor and Joy Belle Ross.
Life story of Sharon Lea Taylor Snyder. I was born October 23, 1949 in Boston, Massachusetts to Joy Belle Ross and Malvern Taylor. My mother, Joy Belle Ross was born on January 29, 1923 in Morris, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to Edward Earl Ross and Hazel Leach. My father, Malvern Taylor was born June 30, 1918 in Bladenboro, Bladen County, North Carolina to Gaston Taylor and Ida Bell Roberts. My mother and father were married February 19, 1944 in Los Angeles, California while my father was in the Army. My sister Carol Jane and I were born while my parents were living in Boston Massachusetts and my father was working for Zales as a watch repairman. Carol was born Feb 11, 1951 and lives in Canton, Texas. when I was 15 months old we moved to 2105 Churchill way, Oklahoma City Oklahoma and my father worked at Tinker Air Force Base. I remember my mother having a part time job at one time, but I don't think she ever worked at a steady job.
I have three siblings. Carol Jane Taylor Robinson who was born February 11, 1951. Carol married Troy Wesley Robinson and they have four children and live in Canton, Texas. Gary Dennis Taylor who was born June 14, 1956 and lives in Ohio. Brenda Sue Taylor Gay who was born April 18, 1957. She married Thomas Ray Gay and lives in Euless, Texas.
I grew up in Oklahoma City and went to John Marshall High School and graduated at age 17. I moved to Texas right after graduation and have lived in Euless, Texas and then Irving, Texas. I was only 15 years old when my father died.
I married Russell Baxley Snyder on March 27, 1981 in Euless, Tarrant County, Texas. He was born on June 8, 1958 San Diego, California. I met Russell while we were both working at the Dallas International Hank. He is still working in the banking industry. He and his parents moved from California to Irving Texas which is a suburb city of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. We had one child: Joseph Baxley Snyder who was born October 7, 1981 in Dallas County, Texas. Joseph lives in Irving, Texas and has a daughter Madison Ann Krivda who was born Dec. 16, 1999.
I was married to Jackie Wayne Smith from 1967 to 1979. He and I had 3 children: Kelly Wayne Smith, Jody Lynn Smith, and Jason Alan Smith.
Kelly was born March 22, 1968 in Tarrant County Texas. At only age 17 he was killed on March 17, 1985 when a large truck hit him crossing highway 114 in Roanoke, Texas. He was never married.
Jody Lynn Smith was born on July 13, 1969 in Tarrant County. He is not currently married. He lives in Irving Texas which is between Dallas and Fort Worth.
Jason Alan Smith was born on April 24, 1973. He married Mandy and has two daughters: Regan Smith (b. March 11,2000) and Siara Smith (b. December 26, 2001). They live in Krum, Texas which is near Denton, north of Dallas, Texas.
I have worked for Dallas International Bank, NCR Corporation, Hitachi, and I currently work for Nokia Networks, having started there in 1998. My responsibilities include Logistics, purchasing of laboratory equipment and Asset Management.
I have three beautiful granddaughters, Madison, Regan and Siara and I currently live at 906 Olde Towne Drive, Irving Texas 75061.
Brenda Sue Taylor Gay is the youngest child of Malvern Taylor and Joy Belle Ross
The Life Story of Brenda Sue Taylor. I was the youngest of four children born April 18,1957 to Malvern Taylor and Joy Belle Roes. They were married Feb. 19, 1944 in Inc Angeles, California. They moved to my dad's home town of Bladenboro, North Carolina and built a little house on his dad's land. I assume they lived there a couple of years and them moved to Boston, Massachusetts. This is where my two older sisters, Sharon and Carol were born. Then they moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and bought a house in the village. A few years later along came my brother Gary. We remained there until 1967, four years after the death of my dad. We then moved to Euless,Texas.
My Dad, was born June 30,1918 to Gaston Taylor and Ida Belle Roberts. They lived on a farm in Bladenboro, North Carolina. They grew many things, but I think tobacco was their main source of income. He had three sisters, Almeta, Etterie and Sophie. Two brothers Larson and Lewis. Grandpa could get down on the fiddle and Granny was really sweet. Dad was in the Army when he met my mother. I think as a joke, my mother once told me dad was a jack of all trades but a master of none. He worked and Tinker Air Force base and was a jeweler at Bales. He turn our garage into a bedroom and the back half into a kitchen. He also built a building/office in the backyard and too many more to list. I think he was a master at all. My dad died from a heart attack while bowling October 25,1963.
My Mother, was born January 29,1923 to Edward Earl Ross Sr. and Hazelwood Leach in Morrie, Oklahoma. I never met my Grandpa, he was telephone lineman and was electrocuted while mother was pregnant with me. (Note by David Pitts, Edward Earl Ross Senior and his partner were working on top of a metal bridge over a river and his partner got across some high voltage lines. Earl Rosa died while saving his partner from being electrocuted. The partner was at Uncle Earl's funeral.) I remember Grandma Ross was always sick. Mother had one sister Reubena. Brothers: Allen (Skeet), Nolan, Ed, and Horace (Little Glen). We always visited mothers siblings and their kids when I was young. After daddy died, Reubena would go to North Carolina with us every summer for two weeks. We would always stop at Gatlinburg in the Smoky Mountains for a night on the way home. When mother was around 17 she stayed with her Aunt Sybil in Irving, Texas and worked at the Chance Vought Aircraft plant shooting rivets into the airplanes. I remember before we moved to Texas we would come visit Aunt Sybil and Aunt Frances a couple of times a year. We would also go down around Graham, Texas for Family reunions and to visit relatives. Mother started working once we move to Texas. She was a nurses aid in the Euless Nursing Home for about 15 years. She showed signs of dementia after a surgery. Then to alsheimer about four years later. She passed away on February 22, 1999.
Sharon married Jack Smith and had three sons: Kelly, Jody and Jason, Kelly passed away in 1985. She and Jack divorced and She later married Russell Snyder and had another son Joseph. Carol married Troy Robinson and had Tammy, Jan, Robert and Kristi. Robert passed away in 2007. Gary married Judy Vick and adopted her children from a previous marriage Tony and Tracy. Gary and Judy divorced. He later married Mary Apollonio
and had four children Christopher, Brian, Brandon and Kayla. They also divorced and Gary is now with Vicky Gurin.
I think I had a normal life growing up in Euless, Tx. I met Thomas at the age of sixteen at a disco dance club in Dallas. It was love a first sight. We were common law married January 4, 1974. We have three sons. Thomas Ray Jr., Christopher Shawn and Aaron Wayne. We were married by a preacher seven and a half years later on July 23, 1981. We still use January 4th as our anniversary. We have several hobbies, boating, fishing, shooting guns, hunting, and racing cars and motorcycles. I love riding/horses. Thomas was a Automotive technician. He at one time had is own shop. He is now retired. I had several jobs. My favorite was working in the file room for Medco Health Solutions. It was a Prescription management company. They were bought out in 2012 by Express Scripts and everyone was laid off. I now work for Winco foods (Great benefits) hoping to retire in a few years.
Thomas Jr. was born on June 5, 1975. Thomas and Amanda lived together in Euless, Tx. and had two sons Dylan Thomas Meyer-Gay b. May 27,1995 and Chandler David Meyer-Gay b. August 2,1999. He married Amanda Meyer on May 21,1997. They moved to Houston and bought a house across the street from her father and step mother.(Gene and Gwen) in 2000. Thomas and Amanda divorced in 2008. He moved back to Euless 2013 with Melody McClure, his new life partner, for a couple of years and they now reside in Palestine, Texas. Like his dad, Thomas is a Automotive technician. He is a great provider. He now works at the Toyota Dealership in Palestine along with his brother and sister-in-law Aaron and Colley. Thomas Ray grew up is Euless and went to all the same schools that I went to and we had some of the same teachers.. His passion is fast cars. He likes shooting guns, hunting and fishing.
Christopher (Shawn) was born May 5, 1976 and married Laura Erika Resendiz on Jun 5, 2007. They have one son Sebastian Mitchell Gay born October 9, 2008. Erika has two children from a previous marriage: Maria Martinez December 12, 1995 and Jhoan Martinez August 12, 2002. Maria had a baby boy Liam April 19, 2016. Shawn lives here in Euless just around the corner from us. He also went to all the schools and had some of the same teachers that I had. He raced motorcycles for a several years. He likes shooting guns and fishing. He worked in the food industry for many years and was the manager of a Sonic for 10 years. He just started a new journey as the Manager over the service writers at a Chrysler dealership where both his brothers have worked.
Aaron Wayne born April 4, 1979. Married Colley Story July 7, 2007. Aaron has a son Damon Mitchell Mcdonald from a previous relationship. It's complicated. Aaron lived in Euless most of his life and went to the same schools. He worked at the Chrysler Dealership as a technician and in management in Grapevine for 10 years. Aaron and Colley had a house built in Fort Worth, Texas and lived there for a couple of years. Then they both were offered a great jobs in management at the Toyota Dealership in Palestine, Texas. They found a nice home and moved to Athens, Texas. Aaron still races motorcycles along with Damon with the Torn Racing association. He also, like shooting guns, hunting and fishing.
I LOVE MY FAMILY V What's that old saying? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Our Motto is: The family that plays together stays together.
Pages of the book were scanned then converted to text using a free on-line OCR tool. The tool worked great. I recall in the 90s OCR was a big deal and didn't always work that well.
